We produce only Dailley import Primitives, to offer domestic outcross bloodlines.
Besides a preference for fleece type, we find that Shetlands with a well-defined, dual coat perform better in our extreme high country winters.
We're trying to preserve a unique type of Shetland that will be bred out forever at the current trend.

Bearing Primitive fleece is not an excuse to produce coarse fiber. In addition to buttery, cashmere-soft handle, we watch fiber diameter in our fleece clip. Finer is better, but not at the expense of handle. You want Shetland fleece that is soft enough to wear next to your skin!
Our Shetlands are NOT pets or pasture ornaments. They are rugged, thrifty and expected to perform on native forage and grass hay. Ours are bred to produce and perform. We want stock that are the closest thing to a heather hill grazing, old type Shetland as possible.

Our Shetlands are selected for exceptional fleeces, structure, maternal capability and disposition.
We do not select for color or pattern, but rather emphasize a total package animal.

The quality of Shetland meat is outstanding, it is flavorful, sweet and juicy. There is a downside though... the servings are tiny!
I propose a solution to this problem; simply, eat more servings!!! Yeah buddy!

Update... I tried an experiment this fall. We AI-ed five Shetland ewes to UK sires. My goal is purely to improve density in the inner-coat. We'll see how the lambs turn out... We bred two katmogets and a moorit to Shirehill Minder and two intermediate whites to Island Skeld.
